Product Illustration

Though fictional, the "Fobe" (combination of "phobic" and "key fob") was created to solve a common problem: that of germ avoidance. For the germaphobes among us, touching public door handles and/or touchscreens can be anxiety-inducing given that these are some of the most common illness-spreading surfaces. This device could be used to "hook" pull doors or tap touchscreens so that contact is not required. To further prevent cross-contamination, the product itself could be linked to a retractable cord and clipped to a belt loop or purse. Since there are many ways to skin a cat, this was merely my own attempt to create a usable and aesthetically appealing anti-germ product.

ILLUSTRATION

PRODUCT ILLUSTRATION, CHARACTER DESIGN, & T-SHIRTS

Character Design

Although this particular style of character design is not my preferred look, it was deliberately chosen here in an attempt to emulate Disney's Beauty and the Beast, since the character's "backstory" is set in this world of animated furniture. A variety of objects were explored through sketching before selecting a mirror, once a young valet, who found himself caught up in the curse on the first day of his new position. Seen in this gallery is an earlier stage in the character's development along with a handful of exploratory sketches.

T-Shirt Design

T-Shirt Design

Shown here are a couple of fun t-shirt designs I created as gifts pertaining to recipients' interests. Inspired by movies like Star Wars and The Emperor's New Groove, books like Harry Potter, and an original pun created by one of the recipients (back shown as image).
